Mission
Established in 2009, Thunder Medicine Lodge is a non-profit organization that provides a safe environment for learning traditional Native American social and cultural values, and practices. We welcome people from all backgrounds. We help establish the internal connection to traditional values and practices through ceremony and individual counseling. This in turn leaves one with a strong sense of pride in identity and increased self esteem. The way of life we teach, it will empower all age groups, from children to elders understand that they can be a strong, proud Native American and walk with the same pride our ancestors once shared.
Goals
The goals of Thunder Medicine Lodge are to:
- Establish and maintain a physical setting
- Establish and maintain a social setting for community gatherings
- Support traditional cultural values through mentoring, and an elder's council
- Provide outreach and education
